Enrolments

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​We commenced the 2026 school year with 559 children enrolled at Rainworth State School.

Enrolment Management Plan

Enrolment at Rainworth State School is highly sought after and therefore to manage the number of students enrolled at our school an Enrolment Management Plan (PDF, 87KB) is in place. Our prime obligation is the enrolment of students whose principal place of residence is within the school's catchment area.

Please check your residential address using the search function of EdMap to check whether you reside within the Rainworth State School catchment area, as this map is updated. The search result will inform you of the state school where your children are eligible to apply for enrolment.​

In Catchment Enrolments​

All students who reside within the school's catchment area are guaranteed enrolment.

If there are any vacancies after these students have been enrolled, then students who meet the following criteria are admitted, in the order listed: 

• Siblings of a current Rainworth student (the current student must remain enrolled for the first year in which the sibling attends the school).

• Siblings of former Rainworth students.

• Children of parents (or guardians) who work at the school.

• Out-of-catchment students. These students are placed on a waiting list. Their position on the waiting list and school capacity to accommodate determines offers.

Please be mindful of the following requirements when submitting an application:

• Original Birth Certificate must be signed by Rainworth SS Staff. Please present this in person to the Administration office.

• Fully completed enrolment form

• Proof of address (2) and residency documents (lease agreement, rates notice and current utility bill)

• Any relevant current court orders and custody documents

• Student Consent Forms attached to enrolment completed in full 

For students with an international passport and an Australian visa the following are also required: 

• visa grant notice from the Department of Home Affairs. Please note, a VIVO check does not provide details necessary for school enrolment.

• passport photo page.

• An official, English translation of their birth certificate may be requested.

• An Authority to Enrol in a Queensland State School is required for all subclass TR500 visas and is arranged by contacting Education Queensland International.
  

• All temporary visa holders should refer to Education Queensland International to determine if an Authority to Enrol is required for their visa subclass.
  

Prep​

Visit the prep ready reckoner for information regarding enrolment in prep and the age requirements. Applications for Prep are opened on the first Monday of March (STRICTLY from 8:00am) in the year before they are due to start. Only hardcopies are accepted, please note no emails will be accepted.​

Years 1-6

Years 1-6 enrolments, if in catchment are welcome through the school year. Please complete Enrolment Form Part 1 (PDF, 992KB) and Enrolment Form Part 2 (PDF, 9.81MB)​ at your earliest opportunity. A meeting with the Principal will be organised to ensure the school can best meet the student's needs.​

Expression of Interest for Out of Catchment Enrolment

Families residing outside the catchment are welcome to complete an Expression of Interest - Out of Catchment Enrolment (PDF, 138KB). Expression of Interest for Prep are accepted from the first Monday of March in the year prior to their start in Prep.

Offers of enrolment can only be made to students on the waiting list if the school has enrolment capacity and there is a vacancy in the year level requested. Enrolments will be confirmed at the beginning of Term 4. Unfortunately due to high demand we are unable to advise individuals of their place on the wait list. 

Short term enrolments for international students

Please note that Rainworth State School does not have a program offering short term enrolment to international students. 

Orientation / School Tours

For confirmed Prep enrolments we will hold a Transition Day for families and students in Term 4 (date subject to change). You will be notified of this date once confirmed.

We do not hold any Open Days or School Tours for families.​
