What an amazing day Wednesday, August 28 turned out to be. Many thanks to the parents who came along to experience an amazing day of science activities.
The day started out with Dr Joe doing science experiments in the hall with all year groups and culminated in every child representing their class by explaining their experiment/s and the scientific theories underlying the them. The day took on a real Expo / Carnival fun day bringing science and its applications alive.
There were stalls for each class to highlight their science expertise. There were stalls for parents who are scientists to display and share their scientific leanings.
"I would like to thanks our scientist parents who had a stall on the day and for all the hard work and preparation they put into getting their science facts and processes across to an eager horde of learners, "said Deputy Principal, Mr Stephen Stocker.
Thanks to Teresa, our resident ecologist and her amazing animal exhibits.
To Greg for his “Making Polymers” exhibit – more slime than you can poke a finger at.
To Jan, who thought you could have so much scientific fun with a few ping pong balls and a hairdryer.
To Michael for his amazing milk and food colouring experiment.
Lastly, many thanks to all the students who put together amazing visual experiments and became a scientist for the day by explaining so clearly their knowledge of the experiment.
"The success of this, our inaugrual event has paved the way for the Science Expo being an important annual event on our Calendar," said Mr Stocker.
