Dr Suess Rocked at Book Week

The annual Book Week Parade went off with a bang on August 29. Our Prep - Year 2 students dressed as a great variety of favourite book characters. Thank you to all parents for assisting the students in choosing and creating a costume. The staff did their bit by dressing up as that old favourite, 'The Cat in a Hat'.

The children sang a rousing rendition of 'Read across the Universe' with the space traveller venturing into space, but horror of horrors, leaving his/ her almost finished book at home! Mr Stocker entertained us with some insights into his favourite reads and we watched a delightful film clip of 'Rosie's Walk' by Pat Hutchins.

Following the parade, the hall and parade areas were filled with mums, dads, grandparents, special friends, teachers, students and siblings sharing the reading of some favourite books.

“In such a busy week, we really appreciated all those who somehow made the time to contribute to the success of Book Week and to show our children how much reading is valued", said co-ordinator and Teacher-Librarian, Mrs Majella Murphy.
